Stone Mountain (2024) Film Screening and Director Q&A In-Person
Join us at Moore Counseling & Mediation Services, 22639 Euclid Avenue, for a special Juneteenth screening of Stone Mountain. This award-winning 2024 documentary explores life in the shadow of the world's largest Confederate monument. The film captures the voices of antiracist activists, community members, and Klansmen as they confront the region's complex legacy.
Filmed over five years during a time of national reckoning, Stone Mountain follows a Black-majority community in Georgia as it unearths its history and shapes its future. Winner of the U.S. Competition Grand Jury Prize at DOC NYC 2024, this documentary offers an intimate, thought-provoking portrait of a community grappling with America's troubled past.
Following the screening, director Daniel Newell Kaufman will join us for a brief Q&A session.
Snacks and light refreshments will be available. Registration is required.
